Festival of Mediterranean Citizens overview (Full version)- Catania 2-5 June 2022

Conceived as the ‘final event’ of Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality Programme, the Festival of Mediterranean Citizens became much more than that: a public stage for political debate and cultural expression on engaged citizenship, on regional issues of common interest, and on the future of the Mediterranean to come.

Comprendere il Mediterraneo – Embracing the Mediterranean – Italian subtitles

Embracing the Mediterranean documentary – Arabic subtitles

Embracing the Mediterranean means saving Europe and its dream of a united space of freedoms and rights. There cannot be an ‘in group’ and an ‘out group’ when we refer to the region that gave birth to shared cultures, civilizations, landscapes and ancestral roots. This dream is like a treasure map, sealed in a bottle, floating across the sea: but it is waiting for a crew of courageous sailors to retrieve it, read it, understand it.. and to act...
